The Giver or the Gifts

Most of the time when we talk about being thankful, it’s about the blessings… family, friends, health, our home, food, loved toys, and so on. Yesterday Jack wrote he is thankful for God. And there it was, pure and simple. Thankfulness for the giver of the gifts. Because if we didn’t have all the blessings, if they were stripped away like Job, we still know our God is the same. He is good, He loves us with an everlasting love, He is faithful to His promises and He hasn’t changed from the day He created the world. Our blessings and our circumstances, whether we understand them or not, they don’t change the truth of who He is. So we should not change in our praise to him and we always have cause to give thanks in all circumstances. He is good, and his love endures forever.
